Bibliophilia. Mannerheim-Sparre, Eva, Finland-Swedish writer and artist, (1870-1958). The honeymoon. Description of a trip in Far Karelia in the summer of 1893. Illustrated with ten original etchings numbered and signed by Louis Sparre. Kunstverden, Stockholm, 1945. Nos. 13 out of 180 copies. Printed in a total of 190 copies. 4:o in a loosely subtitled cover with the submission loosely inlaid, as published. Two cuts uncut. Stored in an elegant solander box designed as a semi-parchment ribbon with gilded back text, richly gilded back decor, splashed binders and blue cut. Store in a blow-sprayed cassette. 67 pp. , (IV) + 10 etchings with protective paper.

Eva Mannerheim Sparre was a pioneer of modern book art in Finland, both in terms of typographic design, bookbinding and education in the subject. Countess Sparre became one of the foremost representatives of book art in the Nordic countries. She also designed textiles and furniture, as well as writing several books. Mannerheim Sparre planned to establish a vocational school for bookbinding in Finland, but the plan did not materialize.
Pehr Louis (originally Luigi Pietro) Sparre af Söfdeborg, born August 3, 1863 in Gravellona in Lombardy, died October 26, 1964 in Oscar's Parish, Stockholm, was a Swedish count, painter, graphic artist, furniture designer and writer, married to Eva Mannerheim. Source Wikipedia.
