Provenance: Collection Göran Berg (1940-2022). Göran was active as a diver in several fields and trained both as an attack diver, a clearing diver and a deep diver. He worked on several submarines and ships, including the submarine depot ship HMS Patricia and was head of diving at HMS Belos.
History: The Swedish royal ship “Riksäpplet”, was launched in 1661 and participated in the great and disastrous naval battle for Sweden at the southern cape of Öland on 1 June 1676. After the battle, parts of the fleet retreated to the warport of Dalarö, where the Riksäpplet anchored adjacent to the rocks at Dalarö skans but tore itself during a storm drifted away and sank just south of Aspön.
