Linnaeus, Carl von, Swedish naturalist, (1707-1778). The legendary copper stick in Systema Natura in new edition. Dedt is concerned with the plan in Linnaeus's own copy of Systema Nartura 1736 in which the 24 classes of Linnes' sexual system are presented in a copper engraving by Georg Dionysius Ehret, the foremost flower painter of the 18th century. It is the Hagströmer Library in Stockholm that has printed this new hand-coloured edition in 100 copies, of which this is no. I'm 13. At the same time, a book about the copper stick was published, but it does not exist here. The copper stub is framed and measures in frame approx. 51 cm. x 37 cm.
