Description
Garden.Piper, Fredrik Magnus, Swedish landscape architect, (1746-1824). Description of the idea and general plan for an angelic pleasure park, written in 1811 and 1812 by Fredrik Magnus Piper. /Description of the Idea and General Plan of an English park, written during the years 1811 and 1812 by Fredrik Magnus Piper. Byggförlaget/Royal Academy of the Free Arts, Stockholm, 2004. Two volumes in 4:o format in green cardboard bands were subtitled in yellow and contained a similar cassette. Commentary by John Harris and Magnus Olausson. Facsimile of handwritten manuscript. /Biblical text in Swedish and English.
The text is richly illustrated with Piper's exquisite watercolours from garden plants and buildings in Sweden and England. Overall, Piper's work forms a unique documentation of the late 18th century English garden style. The facsimile edition is complemented by a volume of texts by and garden historians John Harris and Magnus Olausson.
