Description

Bowl in transparent to translucent nephrite in light green. Height 4 cm.

Provenance: Chang Shao Nan came from China to Sweden in 1939. He trained as a chef in Switzerland and with Thore Wretman in Stockholm. Married Olga and together with her ran the import company Hong Kong Handarbeten from 1939 until 1966. The firm traded in Chinese porcelain, jade objects, ivory objects, furniture, textiles and ceramics. Chang also ran the Chinese restaurant Peking together with the Liu family and later Restaurant Ming on Kristinelundsgatan.

Condition

Several fibrous inclusions, probably of actinolite.
