Description

Allegory of shipping and mercantilism. Gilt and dark patinated bronze, figurative sailor with oar, coin, bale of cotton, wine barrel and anchor, feet in the shape of barrels, dial with white enamel, signed Strengberg, (Peter S. was active in Stockholm and Mariefred 1802-1831), height 41 cm width 30 cm.
A similar pendulum made by Gustaf Undén in the 1810s can be found at Rosersberg Castle.

Condition

Pendant and key included, as well as a glass protective hood with a wooden base with marquetry, first half of the 19th century, height 47, width 37 cm.
Age-related wear, hood pedestal with veneer damage, piece of molding and foot missing, because function is not guaranteed.
