291977. ARTILLERY HELMET AROUND 1900.

Description

Spiked helmet, artillery helmet, around 1900 The spiked helmet was introduced in 1843 by the Prussian military. The "helmet with a peak" was quickly referred to as a "pimple hood" - derived from the "spiky peak!".
The spiked helmet offered is Prussian and was made around 1900. The motto on the front reads: With God for king and fatherland.
This genus offered is a different type. Instead of a tip, a ball was screwed on here, which was intended to prevent soldiers from injuring themselves while operating weapons. Furthermore, the ball is an indication of the affiliation of the soldier. The wearer of this helmet thus belonged to a field or foot artillery.
This helmet is a "chamber piece" which was issued to a conscript soldier and was probably withdrawn after service. There is no stamp inside the helmet.

Condition

Very good condition. Partial scratches on the hood.
