Among the fellow students at the Academy are Gottfrid Kallstenius, Gerda Roosval-Kallstenius, Anton Genberg, Anshelm Schultzberg, Carl Johansson, Verner Åkerman, Carl Flodman, Carolina Benedicks-Bruce, Ida Gisiko-Spärck, Hanna Pauli and Hilma af Klint. During the early summer of 1886, Rönquist participated in an artist excursion to Kungsör led by the academy professor Per Daniel Holm. She was then accompanied by several of the above classmates.
In the late 1890s and early 2000s, at least until 1907, Lotten Rönquist shared a studio with Hilma af Klint and Alma Arnell in the so-called "Ateljébyggenden", which Kungl. The Art Academy owned at Hamngatan 5, at the intersection between Hamngatan and Kungsträdgården. The property was the cultural center of Stockholm at the time. The same building also housed Blanch's Café and Blanch's art salon, where the battle took place between King The Art Academy's conventional view of art and the Artists' Association's French-inspired opposition movement.
After her time at the Academy of Fine Arts, she studied in France, where, among other things, she painted Washing Shoes. During 1892 she worked in the artists' colony Grèz-sur-Loing where also comrades such as Gottfrid Kallstenius, Gerda Roosval-Kallstenius, Waldemar Nyström, Carolina Benedicks-Bruce and William Blair Bruce stayed at this time.
