Howard Carter, English archaeologist (1874-1939) led the fifteen-year search for Tuthankam's tomb in Egypt on behalf of Lord Carnarvon, and was the one who discovered the tomb in the Valley of the Kings outside Luxor in 1922.
Provenance. Shipowner Axel Jonsson J:r with a small note of his hand in the first part: Axel Jonsson in Luxor Feb. 1927.
Straps with light traces of use. The binders bulge loosely. A couple of plates almost loose and with some edge nicks in the third volume. Very light cellar smell.
