Richard Rogers has written the music for some of the most popular musicals ever and many of the melodies have become so-called evergreens, for example Oklahoma ("Oh, What a Beautiful Morning"), South Pacific ("Some Enchanted Evening" and "I' m in Love with a Wonderful Guy"), Kungen och jag ("Getting to Know You", "Shall We Dance", "Hello Young Lovers") and perhaps the most popular of them all, Sound of Music. He wrote over 900 songs and 43 Broadway musicals. He collaborated from 1919 with the lyricist Lorenz Hart (1895-1943). After his death, collaboration with Oscar took place.
