approx 31x27 cm, -book included XI Olympiad 1936, the squad and Bror Hellström depicted PROVENANCE: Bror Hellström, (1914-1992), was a Swedish athlete (long-distance running). Domestically, he competed for IFK Österåker, SoIK Hellas and Brandkårens IK Stockholm.
Brother Hellström was named Big Boy number 96 in athletics. In 1936, Hellström participated in the Olympic Games in Berlin, where he came fourteenth in the 5,000 meters.
Hellström held the Swedish record for 5,000 meters from 1941 to 1942. In 1941 he improved Henry Kälarne's Swedish record for 5,000 meters from 1939 (14.18.8) to 14.15.8. He kept the record until Gunder Hägg ran under 14 minutes the following year.
