Molded grave figure made of terracotta (Mingqi) in the shape of a standing Bactrian camel with a curved, long neck, closed mouth and tuft-like mane, saddled with an oval cover over two opposing humps, the light brown-grey shards covered with white slip, the body painted with ocher-colored pigment and accents in orange and black, mounted on a rectangular plinth, with thermoluminescent certificate of authenticity, H.36.5cm, W29cm, D.13.5cm.
Condition
Traces of rubbing commensurate with age, partially restored cracks and minor bumps, scratches and blemishes, traces of the original paint present, plinth with unevenness caused by firing, and chin, belly and buttocks with small drill holes for minimally invasive sampling.
