Eberhardt, Johan Hartman, priest & writer, (1727-1796). Attempt a pragmatic history of the state of salvation in Swerige, from the oldest to our times. Printed after Carl Stolpe's edition in Stockholm 1769. Second edition. Small 8vo in a contemporary half-French binding with marbled covers. 188 p.
"E's »Försök til en pragmatics historia om färleståndet i Swerige» (1767) also had a polemical edge, in which he answered attacks against the clergy (the slanderous writing »Præstmanna-ode i Sverige», 1768) by showing that the nobility neither been unlucky in terms of civic benefits" Source National Archives.
There are reports that the first edition was withdrawn.

Condition

Band rubbed and stained but well held together. The empty front pages are missing. The inlay with some light layer stains.
