*** Inscribed around the sides 'Presented to the Revd. Leonard Hedley Burrows M.A., Vicar of Godalming A.D. 1888-1904. By 2450 of his Parishioners and Friends of all classes and Denominations as a memento of their love and in token of their appreciation of his untiring efforts for the furthering of every good work connected with the church and town'.
