Brad Davis Front Cover 1979 Vol. Ix No.10 dedication "To my Arne Häggqvist Andy Warhol" cover dimensions approx. 42.5x28.5 cm PROVENANCE: Arne Häggqvist (1911-1985) was a Swedish writer, translator and teacher.
In the late 1930s, he got to know Nils Ferlin and came to write the first book about him. Häggqvist founded the art publishing house Ars and the then-famous debate club Klubb 44, which was visited by greats such as TS Eliot, Artur Lundkvist and Jean Genet. Häggqvist became perhaps best known as an introducer and interpreter of authors such as Prévert, Sartre, Dali, Michaux, Jiménez, Hemingway, Arghezi, Lorca, Colette and Hikmet. The introduction of Jiménez contributed to it.
He also wrote travelogues and art criticism in Aftonbladet, among others.
As a journalist, he interviewed Edith Piaf, Hemingway, Andy Warhol and Dali.
