Description

the wooden seat with an arched back carved with a foliate roundel flanked by leafy scroll carved square section columns with turned capitals linked by woven bands, the sunken woven seat with outset square section and turned legs, the reverse of the back with an Arabic inscription, translating that this seat belonged to Sheikh Khalid, 49.5cm wide x 49cm deep x 76.5cm high, together with a saddlebag, 38cm x 32cm and another adapted as a cushion, 41cm x 35cm of later date (3).

Condition

heavily worn, knocked and marked, consistent with age and use, somewhat out of shape.
