Height 21.5 cm. Length 25 cm.
Reference literature Åke Holm, Ceramicist and Sculptor Rudolf and Rolf Lindstrup, see page 207.
Åke Holm (1900-1980) was born with ceramics in his blood. His father and several other relatives worked at Höganäsbolaget's and at 14 he himself took a job at Andersson & Johansson before joining Höganäsbolaget. There he worked, among other things, as an assistant to Edgar Böckman and supplemented with studies at Höganäs vocational school.
In 1928, Åke Holm established his own workshop together with his brother Ernst (Atte). During the next decade, animals and human figures are produced, sometimes with a biblical connection.
The two works that Halmstads Auktionskammare offers here are pointers to Holm's stripped-down, subtle expression.
Less Abrasions.
