Sven Nilsson was a professor in Lund 1832–56 and is usually called the father of Swedish ornithology. He was curator of the Swedish Academy of Sciences' zoological collections and one of the founders of the Swedish Hunters' Association. In addition, he was a pioneering archaeologist. According to Björn Dal in "Swedish zoological literature", this work was aimed at a broad public and is the work that has meant the most for the general knowledge of our animals.
The tires are in good condition with only light traces of use. The inlays mostly fresh with a few pages with lighter stains here and there. A good set. Blank cover pages are missing.
