A Chinese lacquer and paper folding 'Mandarin' fan, Qing Dynasty, mid-19th century, the sticks with gilt figural and foliate designs on black, opening to reveal a courtly scene on the mount includes numerous ivory faced figures, and similarly on reverse, opened 52.5cm and 28cm high, in black lacquer case.

Condition

the metal piece missing and now held together by a cord and some wear and tears to paper and the lacquer box with damaged hinges, chips to lacquer and wear to painting.
