
Napoleon I, French Emperor (1769-1821). Autographed and signed letter of 2 pages dated 21 May 1807 and sent from the castle Finckenstein in West Prussia. The palace became famous in 1807, when Napoleon made it his residence from April through June of that year. When he saw the palace for the first time, he said: Enfin un chateau ("Finally, a castle"). The letter is to a M. Dejeau who was responsible for buying horses and equipment for the horses for the French army. The letter is signed Nap. Comes with a Swedish translation and a certification from the famous autograph expert Charles Hamilton (1913-1996) in New York. He is confirming that the letter "bears an authentic signature of Napoleon as Emperor.".
