At Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5, we get close to the gilded imagery of the Orthodox Church. In a theme of over 60 icons, we encounter the stories and figures of Holy Scripture. Some of them are set against a background that can’t be described better than with the words “the golden panel,” others in relief, cast in metal, made to be taken along on journeys.
Here you’ll find, among other things, a Russian icon of the Archangel Gabriel on horseback, a festival icon of the Ascension of Christ, and we also meet the figure of Boniface, who is sometimes called the “Apostle of the Germans.”
Welcome!
