Teak-a-Chance

If you look up the wood teak in a substantial dictionary — let us say Svenskt Möbellexikon from 1962 — you will learn that the grain is streaked, that the colour varies from light to dark brown, and that it is said to have been described as far back as the 7th century. Furthermore, that teak has a high oil content which makes it resistant to water and therefore excellent for boat building, and since the late 1940s very popular in home furnishing.
