From a Private Collection – Timeless Treasures presents a rich selection of classical antiques, interspersed with portrait paintings and the occasional curiosity. The offering may be said to range from a family Bible to a cigar casket. Between these extremes, one finds Rococo and Neoclassical chairs, a distinguished tabouret by Carl Fredrik Flodin (active as a chair maker in Stockholm, 1776–1794), a silver tankard by Benjamin West, an exquisite sauceboat by Adolf Zethelius, hallmarked 1817, and much, much more.
The silver section impresses with works not only from Sweden, but also from Denmark, England, and Poland. Several decorative objects in the Empire style stand out, a number of icons are sure to attract interest, and there is also cutlery suitable for more formal table settings.
