Spring is here! And with it comes Lilla Kvalitén April. Over 360 lots are presented, offering the customary rich mix of antiques, art, and design.
At the heart of it all stands a rare and exquisite silver bonbonnière from the era when Arctic and polar expeditions influenced interior design. A curious penguin crowns the piece, and who wouldn’t want to gently grasp it, lift the lid, and reach for a sweet treat?
Similar treasures can be found in the art section. Three highlights include Martin Wickström’s "No Country" from 2012—a painting of quietly commanding presence—set in stark contrast to Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd’s intensely red oil painting. Somewhere in between is Peter Weiss’s intricately detailed "Constructor of a Perpetual Motion Machine."
The furniture selection is, so to speak, well-furnished. Among the offerings: a baroque drop-leaf table, a Danish Louis XV chest of drawers, a robust armchair by Mats Theselius, a pair of exceptionally well-preserved "Karin" chairs, and a rare, exclusive console table.
And to complete the setting, why not add a bronze lamp by the outsider artist Iris Menckel-Olsson (don’t miss it!)? Also up for grabs: Björn Weckström’s Tundra bracelet, antique pendants and brooches, pairs of pewter candlesticks, and—yes—even a sneaky little ceramic Santa that somehow found its way in.
This is just a glimpse of what’s on display at Stockholms Auktionsverk.
Welcome!
