Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm presents the theme auction Black and White, where we are taking a stand for high-quality Swedish black and white graphics from the first half of the 20th century.
Led by Axel Fridell and the five Falugrafikerna, consisting of Stig Borglind, Bertil Bull Hedlund, Hans Johanson-Norsbo, David Tägtström and Helge Zandén, we are showing nearly 200 prints in varying graphic techniques as well as individual originals, including a unique model by Fridell in pencil for the etching “Stadshuset i Stockholm”. Other names in the collection include Ferdinand Boberg, Eric Detthow, Gustaf Isander and Axel Wallert.
The world of motifs shows early 20th century Stockholm, Falun, London and Paris, as well as artist portraits, model and figure studies of Gustav V, Oscar Björck, Fernand Léger and Georges Braque.
The auction's graphic artists deserve to be included in a larger context and whose works will hopefully grace many walls.
Welcome to the viewing and be inspired by a unique and extensive collection.
