Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm presents a new star-studded music theme. On our musical CV, we already have Michael B. Tretow's and Claes af Geijerstam's ABBA memorabilia and Anita Lindblom's collection.
This time, we brighten up the winter darkness with gold and platinum records from well-known artists such as ABBA ("ABBA Gold"), Björn Skifs/Blue Swede ("Michelangelo," "Hooked on a Feeling"), Hep Stars ("Consolation"), Madonna ("Like A Prayer"), Chris Rea ("The Road To Hell"), Kiss ("Beth"), Agnetha Fältskog ("I Stand Alone"), The Beatles ("Help!"), and Coldplay. Furthermore, a fine collection of signed vinyl records by Metallica ("One"), Frank Zappa ("Weasels Ripped My Flesh"), ABBA ("The Visitors" & "The Arrival"), The Who ("The Who"), Depeche Mode ("Black Celebration"), Thin Lizzy ("Johnny The Fox"), KISS ("Rock and Roll Over"), Tina Turner ("Foreign Affair"), Agnetha Fältskog ("Wrap Your Arms Around Me"), Lady Gaga ("Born This Way"), and Johnny Cash ("At San Quentin").
The auction's most unique piece is undoubtedly Cornelis Vreeswijk's very first recorded record from 1959, in only one copy. The record has previously been featured in both Aftonbladet and Antikrundan.
Other highlights include the four Beatles posters from 1964, each measuring 186 x 60 cm. Interesting collector's items are also autographs by Jimi Hendrix, Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, and signed guitars by BB King (Gibson), Bill Champlin/Chicago, and Pink Floyd (Epiphone). The concert poster from the 1977 Scandinavian Tour of Sex Pistols is very rare.
Iconic and signed works by photographers Storm Thorgerson ("Pink Floyd - Dark Side of The Moon" cover), Robert Freeman ("With the Beatles" cover), and Bill Bernstein ("Red Paul"), also signed by Paul McCartney.
