Auctioneer Berndt Engström was active in the family company Auktionsfirman Arwid Engströms Eftr for more than thirty years. The company was started in 1893 by Arwid Engström. His son Göran then took over and eventually Görans son Berndt started working in the company as well. They were based in the county of Södermanland just south of Stockholm but they were active all over Sweden, their speciality was estate sales at mansions and castles. Up until the mid 1980s Berndt Engström conducted many legendary auctions in Sweden including the sales at Stenhammar castle in Södermanland, Skottorps castle in Skåne and Ludvika mansion in Dalarna.

Berndt Engström passed away in 2019 and now his extensive collection of Swedish 20th century art pottery will be auctioned. In the collection you will find both animal figurines as well as vases and bowls by Gunnar Nylund, miniatures by Berndt Friberg and several sgraffito vases by Josef Ekberg.
