Durchmesser unten: ca. 21cm
This beautiful and decorative Japanese Bronze Censer is very impressive. Made out of Bronze it has a nice copper red-brown patina. It dates to the second half of the 19th Century - the so called Meiji Era. It features a Dragon / Lion on the Lid. It also has beautiful floral and animal reliefs all around the actual bowl. Overall it is a very impressive & heavy piece made of solid bronze.

The Koro (Japanese censer) is often used in Japanese tea ceremonies. They are usually of globular form with three feet, made in pottery, Imari porcelain, Kutani ware, Kakiemon, Satsuma, enamel or bronze.

The Meiji era, is a Japanese era which extended from 1868 through 1912. This period represents the first half of the Empire of Japan during which Japanese society moved from being an isolated feudal society to its modern form. Fundamental changes affected its social structure, internal politics, economy, military, and foreign relations. Condition: Good Antique condition with a beautiful patina.
