Sami cultural handicrafts have long attracted collectors who appreciate the quality of these works. Everyday items made from roots, birch bark, leather, and reindeer antlers have been developed over the years to support the Sami people's nomadic lifestyle. At the same time, these objects have become cultural carriers, playing a significant role in strengthening identity.
Örebro Stadsauktioner now presents about twenty examples of Sami handicraft – Duodji. You are warmly invited to explore the selection of knives, kåsas (traditional drinking cups), wooden figures, and much more from this rich tradition. Perhaps the highlight is a kåsa made from burl wood, dating back to 1858, though it competes with high-quality carvings, knives in various designs, and beautifully patinated wooden boxes.
Welcome to discover Sami craftsmanship!
