Stone, Bronze- and Iron Age: Part 1

Stone Age. Bronze Age. Iron Age. Stockholm Auction House Sickla has taken a giant leap back in history to present part 1 of a theme filled with artifacts from a time when a good stone axe could mean everything and a stylish iron brooch was the latest fashion statement.

The presumed highlight is a house-shaped reliquary from the Viking Age made of silver with gilded details. The auctioned shrine bears resemblance to one in the collections of the British Museum. The theme also includes a remarkably intricate breast ornament with fish-shaped pendants from Gotland - now, that's what you call antiquity!
