The oldest traces of human activity in the landscape are believed to date back to 7,000 years before Christ. However, when Gomér & Andersson in Linköping takes a grasp of Östergötland, it's mainly the 20th-century visual arts that are in focus. Over 80 artworks are included in the theme presented under the title "Artists from Östergötland." The framework is the regional border, but beyond that, there are more loose reins. Here are three examples of the theme's breadth:
Karl Thorsten Andersson hits the mark with high precision in his "Art Discussions" from 1971, where intellectuals and perhaps even quasi-intellectuals gather in front of a canvas at an unknown gallery. Leo Verde offers a traditional nude study, and Jan Davidsson gets close to a Lucia procession in one of the auction's more recent paintings. Alongside these three glimpses, works by other artists from Östergötland are offered, including Gunnar Kanevad, Eskil Nordell, Britha Rothlin-Zacrisson, and many more.
Welcome to Gomér & Andersson in Linköping to discover "Artists from Östergötland"!
