Crafoord Auktioner Lund begins the new year by inviting us to browse the spines of their bookshelves.
This time, more than 200 lots are on offer, featuring books from across centuries, autographs, and a delightful assortment of related items. For example, there’s an exceptionally fine Alfa photograph of the football magician Pelé.
As expected, the focus remains on literature, from which a few highlights can easily be drawn. Here are three examples:
First, an extraordinary volume on beer brewing and hop cultivation, promising "minimal cost and maximum profit." Next, four annual volumes of the journal ACTA ERUDITORUM, showcasing the cutting-edge science of the late 17th century. Finally, René Descartes' generously illustrated Principia Philosophiae—a classic work that arguably deserves a place in any well-curated library.
But as mentioned, these are just a few highlights from a theme where every lot has been carefully handpicked.
