The bookshelves are once again filled down at Crafoord Auctions in Lund. And as tradition dictates, one never knows what to expect. Some fine French volumes about the amiable elephant Babar surprise, as do the miniature boxing gloves with Jack Dempsey's autograph. Alongside these, attention is naturally drawn to Guillaume Berggren's photographs from Constantinople taken sometime in the late 19th century. Berggren had opened a photo studio in the Turkish capital, which he named Lilla Sverige (Little Sweden). This auctioned item is simply a piece of photographic history. Otherwise, particularly amusing is the facsimile edition of Das Stundenbuch der Jeanne d'Evreux complete with a magnifying glass (!). A set of Alfa pictures with Pelé at the forefront should also be mentioned, as well as David Hockney's painting book from Normandy and the Travelling Wilburys LP with all the right autographs.
Finally, for all those interested in illustrations and/or poultry birds: do not miss George Bricka's five-star work titled Illustrated Handbook in Poultry Farming!
