Barcelona Auctions presents Private Collection III, an auction bringing together art, antique furniture and decorative objects from a private collection housed in a Barcelona residence. The collection retains the personal character of an interior where different periods, materials and artistic styles coexisted: 20th-century paintings alongside centuries-old furniture, architectural elements and textiles.
Among the highlights are “Trois nus au point” by Suzanne Roger, an oil on canvas signed and dated 1927; compositions by Joan Josep Tharrats, characterised by expressive brushwork and striking colour contrasts; and “Madre e hijo” (Mother and Child) by Montserrat Gudiol, a delicate portrayal of maternal intimacy.
One of the standout furniture pieces is an imposing 17th-century Castilian sacristy chest of drawers, crafted from walnut. The selection also includes a 16th-century Italian capital, a wooden chest with bone inlay and a 19th-century Caucasian Lenkoran rug, pieces that bring ornamental richness and diversity to the collection.
