Rolf Lind (1948-2023) was a collector of art glass and litterature.
Rolf's big interest was to monitor auctions and during weekends visit various auction houses or during the summer period visit collector's markets. There was a lust to learn more about the history of glass and the glass designers active in Sweden during the 20th century.
His roots to the glass was since childhood through his father, engineers Peter Lind, who worked at Ruda glasbruk. Ruda glasbruk was 1947 part of the Jungner company located in Oskarshamn. The glass factory made the hard glass NIFE among other things. Their most famous products today however are the items designed by Göte Augustsson.
To stay updated with contemporary glass was important for Rolf. In his collection we also find rare items such as the "Fireworks bowl" by Edward Hald. An orange vase by Sven X:et Erixson. Art Nouveau pieces by Axel Enoch Boman at Reijmyre glasbruk and Karl Lindeberg at Kosta were some of his personal favourites. The collection shows a big part of the 20th century glass history and their designers.
A friend has left us and now his collection if being sold. The items are passed on to other collectors that share his passion for glass.
