She was born as Dagmar Maria Lange but went down in literary history as Maria Lang. Today, she is considered one of Sweden’s most influential crime writers. Her first novel, Mördaren ljuger inte ensam (The Murderer Is Not Alone), was published in 1949. After that, she released nearly one book per year until 1990. In the bourgeois settings of Bergslagen, Commissioner Christer Wijk solved one murder case after another—many of which were also adapted into films.
Now, at Örebro Stadsauktioner, we have the opportunity to get closer to these novels—so close that we can actually acquire the original cover illustrations. This themed auction, featuring 39 items, presents a piece of illustrated literary history at its most thrilling.
