Japanese Woodblocks

Blackadder studied at the Edinburgh College of Art in the 1950's, where she became interested in the work of Japanese woodblock printmakers. This influence can be seen in her work, which often features flat areas of colour and simplified forms. Her subject matter ranges from still life's and landscapes to portraits and animals.
