At Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5, we are drawn into a wondrous mechanical world where vehicles and craft in lithographed tin come to life alongside clowns, Dino Raiders, and spirited Moomin figures.
There stands “The Great Billiard Champion,” sinking balls as if it were nothing. There stands a spirit-fired steam locomotive, waiting to be refilled. And there passes a most well-behaved gardener, picking up speed on his wheelbarrow with the help of a coil-spring mechanism.
All in all, over 110 lots are presented, selected by expert specialists who have kept their inner child alive in the best possible way.
It is wonderful. In a way, it is high-tech in its simple format, and it is a search for the play that has fled.
Welcome to the Autumn Toy Auction!
