In the middle of summer, Stockholms Auktionsverk Göteborg now offers us a life-giving dose of colour to hang on the walls. The artists are familiar names: Inge Schiöler, Otte Sköld, Birger Simonsson, Nils Nilsson, Gösta Sandels, Ivan Ivarson, Erling Ärlingsson and others are responsible for what in this theme is called Swedish Colour Poetry.
We are back there once more, and are now served part two. The selection this time comprises just under 50 paintings drawn from the more vivid corners of Swedish modernism.
Gösta Sandels' work "Bygget" vibrates with its billowing smoke, which seems to surge straight out of the canvas. CO Hultén hits hard with intense colours in his "Skymtar som djur". And then there is Sven Jonson's "Redskap i vila" — almost contemplative by comparison. A matter of taste, what one prefers most.
A warm welcome to Stockholms Auktionsverk Göteborg and Swedish Colour Poetry — Part II!
