Stockholms Auktionsverk Sickla presents a vibrant artistic oeuvre as it now offers 14 works by Bengtolle Oldinger.
Bengtolle Oldinger began his artistic career during the modernist 1930s. In 1937, he enrolled at Otte Sköld’s painting school, and during the following decade he travelled to Paris to study under André Lhote. He translated these experiences into expressive canvases, whose rich colours were likely further enhanced by his many travels around the world. These stays abroad were interspersed with recurring visits to Funäsdalen.
In the works now on offer, we encounter a rich variety of motifs, ranging from a coastal scene in Scotland to more familiar landscapes from Härjedalen.
