For the twentieth time, Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm presents a well-packaged Design Sale. Famous designer names and classics are packed close together, but there are also unusual elements and singular objects. The courting sofa – a so-called Tête-à-tête – can bring something unexpected to a room. The pine table by Roland Wilhelmsson is perfect for television evenings (just look at the name!). The soap dish in the bathroom with a reclining pierrot is practically a must for anyone who wishes to fully immerse themselves in Art Deco.
Three mahogany-veneered bookshelves designed by Josef Frank carry a remarkable provenance. Until 1978 they formed part of the shop interior at Svenskt Tenn's premises on Strandvägen in Stockholm. One might well say there is a trace of magic in them. Karl Linderberg's pale pink vase is Art Nouveau in Swedish – restrained in colour and expression. A cabinet by James Krenov is craftsmanship in concentrated form. And from Dunhill comes an elegant table clock that also offers a hint about the weather.
A warm welcome to Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm and Design Sale XX!
