It is a rare art to mix and match, but Stockholms Auktionsverk masters this task completely, and has now assembled over 360 lots presented under the familiar heading Lilla Kvalitén.
The very word quality has guided the selection of items that, in one way or another, rise above the ordinary. Here, traditional antiques and classical art coexist with modern design, contemporary sculpture, and the occasional curiosity.
A leaf by Olle Baertling is displayed above a Rococo chest of drawers, a crystal bonbonnière from the French Empire sits alongside a delightful piece by Fulvio Bianconi, and a black leather Jetson chair stands next to a garden table by J&C G Bolinder.
The auction also offers graphics by Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, a couple of clocks from the era when Swedish modernism reveled in exotic woods, several works by Madeleine Pyk, art glass from Orrefors, a rare Moomin mug, antique silver pitchers for the dining table, sports trading cards, photographs by Tony Landberg, and much, much more.
A warm welcome to Stockholms Auktionsverk!
