Lars Skoglund of Järnblästen was born in 1891 into a farming family, but it didn’t take long before he began observing the farm animals with different eyes. He became a woodcarver who, with deft hands, interpreted life in Hälsingland in a personal and confidently expressive manner.
He came to be known by the nickname “Bläst-Lars,” and under this name he made his mark in Swedish handicraft circles. Today, many years later, his works have become a natural field for collectors.
Stadsauktion Sundsvall now presents eleven of his figures. Naturally, there are cows and horses, but also a mid-morning coffee break and a couple of other small — let us call them — adventures.
A warm welcome!
