Crafoord Auctions Stockholm excels in the art of selecting, highlighting, and elevating as they now present February’s Evening Sale. This time, the focus is on painting, featuring both classic works and pieces from the modernist era.
From Jenny Nyström’s studio comes a small Christmas reveler who has brought along both a pig and a bouquet of tulips (!) on a stroll through the snow, while Helmer Osslund offers us two northern Swedish landscapes, highly characteristic of the artist. Alongside these, the auction includes traditional paintings by Johan Krouthén, Severin Nilsson, Prince Eugen, Per Ekström, and Oskar Bergman.
The catalog also features several oils from the Halmstad Group, floral compositions by Isaac Grünewald, two still lifes by Olle Hjortzberg, and a vividly colorful depiction of working-class life by Albin Amelin.
Finally, there are several magnificent Russian porcelain pieces, truly exceptional in their craftsmanship. Add to this a portrait bust in bronze depicting Jean-Jacques Rousseau, an exquisitely elegant silver tray from the George III period, and a pair of fire-gilded bronze tazzas, and you have just a glimpse of the treasures awaiting in Crafoord Auctions Stockholm’s Evening Sale.
Welcome!
