August's selected items at Palsgaard Kunstauktioner present a wonderfully eclectic mix from the Scandinavian design world. Two of these items were created by Birger Kaipiainen. His magnificent Rörstrand bowl is naturally one of them, but his ink drawing on a piece of birch is likely to attract collectors and surprise in terms of price. Another bowl of distinguished class comes from Saxbo and the highly esteemed Axel Salto. Ib Arberg’s parrot-like – and both comfortable and amusing! – armchair from the 70s enlivens the theme, as do Hans-Agne Jakobsson's hat lamps, offered here in burgundy on cylindrical bases. In addition, several works by Just Andersen are noteworthy, along with two fine pieces by Eva Staehr-Nielsen and an exquisite bunch of grapes in high-fired faience by Hans Hedberg.
