Kolonn has once again opened the lid of the treasure chest with the theme auction Small Treasures, where small and precious or simply delightful items are presented in a wonderfully eclectic mix. In the showcase of the exhibition, a miniature portrait of Jacob Axel Gillberg rubs shoulders with gold miniature insignia for the Royal Order of the Sword, several large gold medals, and an unusual German silver medal from the 17th century. A pre-Columbian deity and a tape measure in the form of a miniature carriage are examples of the theme's more unusual items. For those interested in cultural history or historical anthropology, the suite of scenes in mixed media depicting the humorous life in the Swedish countryside among the rural nobility in the 19th century is likely to be appealing. The one looking for decorative items won't be disappointed, and might be drawn to Karl Lindberg's exquisite green overlay glass with butterfly decoration, unless inclined towards collecting folk art and appreciating the fine boxes from Southern Sweden, classic snuffboxes, or Jemt Olov Person's fantastic wooden horse. A truly shining light in the winter darkness is the theme's silver items, where a brandy glass from the rarely found Öregrund is an interesting collector's item alongside a figural needle case from 1841.
With all this and much more, Kolonn warmly welcomes you to explore among a diverse selection of 144 small treasures and find the item you want to bring a new context to in your home or collection.
