Palsgaard Kunstauktioner once again offers us a catalogue of handpicked gems. As usual, the emphasis is on modern Danish design mixed with a varied selection of paintings.
Poul Kjaerholm's PK-22 armchairs represent Danish furniture design from the era when it broke free of the long cabinetmaking tradition. But there's also plenty of fine wooden furniture on offer. Among the designers featured are Kai Winding, Erik Buch, Kay Fisker, Kai Kristiansen, Hans J Wegner, and Ole Wanscher, to name a few. The headline act is the Whisky Chair by Finn Juhl. The lacquered display shelves from Louis Poulsen are something else entirely - garish in their bold colors and in total contrast to the auction's Swedish pine furniture.
On the lighting side, there's an elegant Art Deco chandelier from Lyfa. Alongside a few bronzes from the same era, there's an impressive wall relief by Tue Poulsen and an Art Nouveau pedestal where no expense was spared on decoration.
