Auktionsverket Engelholm has a talent for presenting selections of exceptional density. Their Spring Auction is no exception, offering 22 high-quality lots of considerable breadth.
The oldest object in the auction is a sauce boat on stand in silver, made by Henrik August Lang in St Petersburg in 1838. Its counterpart may perhaps be found in Tyra Lundgren's substantial – half a metre (!) long – stoneware fish from Gustavsberg. Between them, Märta Måås-Fjetterström's flossa rug "Blåringen" is presented as a masterful example of the cool Swedish modernism that conquered the world during the interwar period. Alongside it stand a pair of club armchairs in inviting sheepskin and a country house table from Nordiska Kompaniet's 1940s.
A rare turn-of-the-century tureen from Royal Copenhagen, a confident garniture from Stigbert, and then there is Pratuang Emjaroens – a flowing, swirling, intense work of art for the international stage.
A warm welcome to Auktionsverket Engelholm's Spring Auction!
