Palsgaard Curated 45 is more of what we want. Just over 200 lots of selected objects by the specialists at Palsgaard Kunstauktioner.
The theme’s highlight is perhaps the “Whisky Chair” by Finn Juhl, an armchair that combines the aesthetics of Danish craftsmanship with the comfort of a truly good piece of seating. Juhl is just one of many prominent Danish furniture designers whose work is included here. Kai Kristiansen, Arnold Madsen, Hans J Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, and Børge Mogensen are some of the others.
Alongside them are jewelry and vintage, modern painting and sculpture, lighting, glass, and porcelain and ceramics. A lidded bowl from Royal Copenhagen is a very tasteful example of the cool Art Deco winds that blew over Danish decorative arts in the interwar period. Considerably more chaotic is Ingo Maurer’s “Zettel’z 6” from the final years of the 20th century. Together they show the range of the 45th catalogue in the Palsgaard Curated series.
