Biografi

Philippe de Rougemont was a French-born painter who became an integral part of Sweden's art scene in the early 20th century. Born in Lille in 1891, he studied at the Académie Delecluse in Paris from 1912 to 1917. In 1919, he moved to Stockholm with his Swedish wife, artist Sigrid Wahlström, and established a studio there.

Portraits and Figurative Works

De Rougemont gained recognition for his portraits, including commissions from Swedish dignitaries such as King Gustav V and Prince Carl. His work often depicted female nudes, characterized by rhythmic composition and expressive brushwork. His paintings are held in public collections, including the Maritime Museum in Gothenburg and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
